The theme I have chosen to focus on within this course is assistant learning programs that are directed for those who have disabilities. I have chosen to focus on this topic because my major is Early Childhood Education and Exceptional Needs. With this degree, I hope to become a teacher for younger children who live with disabilities, such as Down Syndrome and Autism. Focusing on this topic would allow for me to learn more about what I can bring to the classroom for my students. The theme would also allow for me to understand the general guidelines and expectations of the programs as well.
Assistant learning programs for children who have disabilities is an important topic for me. I have a strong personal connection to both children and adults who have disabilities. I have worked with them in programs for about 3 years now. Working in these programs is what drove me to decide my major and what I wanted to do with my future. Because of this, I have a strong connection and interest to this theme because it benefits my career and all the possibilities that come along with it.
